There are 18 (+) checkpoints between the true start in Willow and the finish in Nome. None of these checkpoints are accessible by road, so all food and supplies must be flown in ahead of time. At one checkpoint, we will take a mandatory (by race rules) 24-hour layover (likely McGrath or Takotna). On the Yukon River, we stay for 8 hours at a checkpoint of choice and then again at White Mountain there is another 8-hour mandatory layover. How long we rest at other checkpoints will be up to each musher, but regardless we must fly in dog food that we pick up along the way. Sponsoring a checkpoint helps us fly in our food and supplies needed to run the race. Here are the checkpoints, a little info and how far into the race. Suggested sponsorship is $200
